Each episode, Jonathan Van Ness is joined by experts to discuss topics that vary from conversations with neuroscientists regarding memory and the benefits of sleep, talks of the deep sea with marine biologists, to discussing prehistoric America with professors of paleontology; this podcast is perfect for curious minds. This is one of my favourites, JVN’s podcasts are always so enjoyable to listen to!
Candace Owens’ podcast is one that explores current topics and events via legal documents and substantive evidence. She does not shy away from telling the truth exactly how it is and her show presents the news with honesty, something that is deeply missed in mainstream media. I like to receive my information with background facts and depth of knowledge, Candace and her research team go over and above when it comes to background details and information regarding recent news and findings. Mainstream media are quick to throw political commentators on a panel that operate under the modus operandi of adversarial politics, rather than somebody who is willing to follow the truth and facts, to present an unbiased opinion, irrespective of what side of the political spectrum that falls on.
The name pretty much sums up what this podcast is about. After testing out a few true crime podcasts over the years, this is one that has stayed on my following list. It’s truly gripping. This podcast explores cold cases, missing persons, crimes, murders, mysterious deaths and everything in between. I find the host Ashley Flowers, to have a gorgeous, sweet, clear voice – I always enjoy her deep dives, she gives gossip girl vibes.
This podcast is similar to JVN & Dr Chatterjee’s podcasts, where each episode provides conversation and expertise from the world’s top scientists, doctors and experts in their fields regarding health and nutrition. Topics range from discussions with professors in molecular dermatology about anti-aging myths, protein to build muscle with nutrition experts, to superfoods that fight inflammation, I always find this podcast to be an easy listen with information that is well researched with regard to health.
There’s a reason it’s the #1 podcast. Like many of the podcasts listed that I’ve recommended, Joe speaks to experts in their field too. Sometimes it’s interviews… If you’re political, this is the perfect channel for you. I recently watched Joe’s interview with Bernie Sanders discussing American politics and it’s worth a watch.
This podcast is hosted by one of the most influential GP’s in the country, Dr Chatterjee talks all things health, lifestyle and life-hacks. One of my favourite episodes is exploring metabolic health and how to use food as medicine. Feel Better, Live More, upload some bitesized clips that aren’t the length of their usual podcasts too.
This podcast is great if you’re interested in exploring unexplained events and mysteries throughout history. I love that one week the topic is pyramids and the structures before ancient Egypt and the next it’s deep diving into the Black Hand and the role extortion plays in society. I consider myself pretty familiar with a broad variety of topics, until I found this podcast – I was introduced to historical events I had never even heard about before, or been taught at school…
For the curious people! I love how random the topics are. One minute you’re listening to legends of Nazi Gold and how barcodes work, the next – the disappearance of Flight MH370 and all the facts surrounding.
Obsessed.
My favourite episode so far is THE UNKNOWN: Dyatlov Pass. Which, if you didn’t know, is the true-story of a group of young mountaineers that died under mysterious circumstances in Russia’s Ural Mountains in 1959. The podcast uses verified research, police reports, witness statements, newspaper and online sources as evidence… I need, want and require safety, but my soul yearns to obsess over true-crime and the supernatural, it fascinates me but also scares me! This is the second Ashley Flowers podcast I have recommended, as well as the true-crime one mentioned above, Crime Junkie. Her podcasts are great, well-researched and her voice is as soft as butter! I think I love her now, she’s a Spooky Queen.
