First, is the story of Cyntoia Brown who was sex-trafficked and forced into prostitution. When she was 16, she killed a man in self defence, who was paying to sleep with her; and as a young girl, she was tried in court as a woman.
Second, Self Made: Inspired by the life of Madam C.J. Walker. Madam C.J. was America’s first black female millionaire and built an empire by selling hair products mainly to black women.
Third, When They See Us is about five New York boys who were wrongly convicted, and sent to prison as teenagers for the killing of a woman in Central Park. It’s heartbreaking, but a must watch – the system and democracy failed these boys, the movie shines a much needed light on police corruption and institutionalised racism in America.
Four, The Great Hack. This documentary explores how Cambridge Analytica influenced the U.K. Brexit referendum and the 2016 Presidential election. This is an absolute must watch for anybody who believes in the truth, and want to know what really happened in our elections.
Five, Dirty Money. Each episode shows you how just how much cash and capitalism runs the world.
Six, Explained puts the spotlight on an important issues each episode, that you don’t necessarily hear in the mainstream daily news.
Seven, Down to Earth with Zac Efron travels the world and casts light on healthy, sustainable ways of living such as clean drinking water, renewable energy in Iceland and Wildlife refuges in Costa Rica. Do you really need another reason to watch Zac Efron?
