Here, you will find some places in Liverpool that I recommend you visit. The majority of these places aren’t in the city centre, if you are looking for unique things to do in Liverpool City Centre – read my other article here.
The Festival Gardens
Probably my favourite garden in Liverpool. It is so gorgeous and you immediately feel transported out of the city. The Festival Gardens include Japanese and Chinese gardens, biodiversity zones, woodland trails, waterfalls, lakes and a moon wall, amongst other things. It also has a huge outdoor play area for kids too and it’s open 7 days a week. Visiting here is so relaxing and tranquil, whilst also stimulating your inner explorer. It’s 100% dog friendly, the first time I came here with my dog, Lady, I noticed there were so many different areas to explore off the path. There’s a car park available, but always double check their website if you plan to visit. (https://liverpool.gov.uk/leisure-parks-and-wellbeing/parks-and-greenspaces/festival-gardens/)

Spoilt For Choice
229 Stanley Road, Bootle L20 3DY
When I tell you that this is the best sandwich shop in Liverpool, please believe me. It has been my go-to since I was about 11 and I have always ordered the same thing… Mexican tuna salad on a white barm. It is absolutely delicious, no other sandwich I’ve ever tasted compares and I often find myself thinking of this sandwich, very much like Joey Tribbiani. Even their lettuce is nicer. I have no idea what they put in it that makes it so tasty, but I have to ask their ingredients so I can attempt to make it at home. They also do Specials that are off menu that vary from day to day, their chicken noodle soup is absolutely everything. You can buy cups of it, it is exactly like homemade food cooked by your mother. I cannot recommend this place enough, truly delicious food!
