Here is my recipe for a gorgeous homemade Scouse. I have a short tutorial available on TikTok, which is also available to watch following the list of ingredients below.
I love making this dish, my mum has made it the same way for years and it has been a goodness filled classic for a long time in Liverpool. I serve this with dish with sliced crusty bread and butter, but my mum and grandad also serve it with beetroot.
This dish is filled with natural nutrients and vitamins, protein and provides a good source of fibre, iron and antioxidants. All in one delicious bowl.
Here are the list of ingredients you will need to make a delicious Scouse:
400g x Diced beef
4 x Potatoes
3 x Carrots
1 x Large Leek
2 x Brown Onions
2 x Fresh Garlic cloves
Fresh thyme
Tinned tomatoes
Worcheshire Sauce
White Pepper
Black Pepper
Salt
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Beef OXO
Vegetable stock
SIDE NOTE: Lea & Perrins worcestershire sauce and ground white pepper are NON-NEGOTIABLES! Trust me. Pairing these two alongside any dish including vegetables will elevate the flavour. Thank you to my Grandad for having me love white pepper since an early age, I can’t cook anything without it now and I hardly see any recipes that includes it and I don’t know why…
